Battlefield 6 Gamers Are Convinced: Tasks Are Way Too Hard
The launch of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, notably for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. Yet, despite its popularity, an increasing amount of players are voicing discontent with a portion of the release's most difficult challenges, which are mandatory to access certain guns.
Users have commenced turning to tailored sessions set up using Battlefield Portal to complete them, underscoring just how grueling these missions have become.
Understanding BF6 Objectives
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, as opposed to the periodically changed everyday and weekly missions. There are four types of assignments, but although many simply offer cosmetics and some tools, completing the weapon assignments is the only way of getting a dozen out of forty-one main guns available in the game.
A number of these restricted firearms could shortly earn a place on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration via Reddit
Within Reddit, players are understandably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. One user highlighted one of the most extreme examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This mission is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to tear my hair out," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it has significantly fewer positive effects in fights as it used to in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, hipfiring an LMG is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at extremely close range, which isn't typically where you prefer to be. The same user also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that challenge would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and conversely.
Another Extremely Difficult Mission
Another Reddit user brought attention to an additional excessively hard challenge, within the sniper rifle category to unlock the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills from more than 200 meters away with marksman guns
This is tough enough by itself, but there's one more key thing to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at those extended distances.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game at present, it restricts you to playing a specific urban map, another expansive area, and perhaps Operation Firestorm at a push if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.
The Alternative Method
Nevertheless, a method exists: the portal. The Battlefield Portal is a feature that enables you to create personalized matches on the battleground of your choice, featuring computer-controlled players. This implies you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't exactly feel like the developer's vision.
But when completing the missions in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you are forced to participate in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for grinding them out in a personal session so allies are not impaired?
Future Adjustments
It is expected if several of these tasks are adjusted to be less difficult in the next few updates, because unless they are modified, certain gamers simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
For now, the player base continues to share their thoughts on these challenging battlefield assignments, expecting a fairer gaming experience in subsequent patches.
